The first thing you need to know is that I love to laugh.
The sunglasses, the ever-so-slight Mona Lisa smile…this is how I roll…
Laughter is the Best Medicine.
I don’t take myself too seriously.
It’s been proven that it’s healthier to be happy and thankful, right?
It’s in the Bible…
“A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. ”
I’ll let you in on a little secret….
Humor is actually one of my secret weapons.
I’m up on stage, I’m about to talk about a slightly…sensitive…topic, and it goes down soooo……much….easier with a spoonful of sugar or honey….
Now don’t get me wrong….I’m not saying that I sugar coat things….actually pretty much the opposite. I kind of tell it like it is…
People love me because I drop Truth Bombs…
So what exactly does that mean?
I have a delicate way of preparing you to receive some Biblical truths that might…just…sting a little.
Remember that spray that Mom said wouldn’t hurt as she blasted your newly scraped knee and put a bandage on it. Yeah….ouch!!!
Well…if she would have just given a little humor jab right…before pressing spray, you probably wouldn’t have even noticed the discomfort.
“When we stop taking ourselves so seriously and stop trying to pretend that we’re perfect…life can actually get a whole lot sweeter. We all have so much more in common than we let on.
”
I specialize in talking about Real Christian Life.
The kind that is imperfect, bumpy, completely unexpected and also the most incredible mind blowing ride of your life. .
You’ll hear me say that
Life with God is a Trip….
Have you read the Bible? The Walls of Jericho were taken down by a band circling the city….yep.
So before we get our religious panties in a bunch, we need to recognize that Gods ways are not our ways…literally…
So, as I was searching for a catchy title to encapsulate my new Podcast about living the Abundant life in Christ….. SHEACATION…came to mind. (A term a dearly beloved Aunt coined about our annual extended family annual holiday.)
Life is a journey that is one part adventure and one part gift.
You’ll notice I may lean-in to some vacation analogies like…We’ll be unpacking some bags….if you know what I mean…
The journey with God can be a bit like a trip to the spa…a little exfoliating and smoothing out some of our rough edges that we haven’t been dealing with…let’s not take ourselves too seriously…
So, I am a little bit of a vacation nerd.
I was recently asked how many Cruises I’ve been on…Caribbean and otherwise…and I said 17 of course, which is my tally so far…
It turns out this is slightly unusual…some people have never been on a single Cruise.
So, I’m just saying that there may be a SHEACATION Ministry Cruise in my future….would you want to join me? Fun in the Son… I can hear the steel bells a-ringing. Get on my Ministry Cruise List…to be the first to know when it’s scheduled.
What is all of this ocean and beach and Sheacation stuff anyway?
Well…I’m an advocate for REST and PEACE. Time with your Partner and Family….living a lifestyle that is authentic to you.
And I’m a lover of this beautiful ocean covered planet that God Created….
Water is symbolic of the Holy Spirit…
The sun….light is the symbol of truth.
All of these things…laughter, rest, family, the beauty of nature are parts of the Authentic Me that feels called to equip and empower the Authentic You…
to walk in the fullness of the Abundant Christian Life Now…here on earth.
Join me as we set sail on the adventure of life with God, pick each other up as we fall, and rise in unshakeable faith and relationship with our Triune God….Father, Son & Holy Spirit.
